Feeding Thousands of People from Hundreds of Homes
Thanksgiving at Central Community began in 1988 as a small group of people gave their day in hopes of feeding the homeless of Riverside. We prepared for nearly 200 and no one came. The dinners were donated to a home for battered women and their children that would have otherwise gone without.
We learned that first year that even when we couldn’t see it- God had a plan for Thanksgiving in our lives. We’ve done our best, with the loving support of so many, to remain faithful and God has blessed and built our Community Wide, Free Thanksgiving Dinner. We now serve thousands and thousands of meals each year – here at the church and delivering to households in need.

Our overriding purpose at Thanksgiving is “That No One Goes Alone or Without.” Each Thanksgiving we open our doors to over 500 volunteers, many who’ve served with us for years. Without a “commercial” kitchen – all the food is donated and prepared by members of our church, supporting churches and friends in the community.
If you’d like to share in one of the most inspirational Thanksgivings you’ll ever experience – while working hard, giving generously and serving others –you’re invited. If you have corporate connections and would like to make a donation of food- please contact us directly. If you’d like to support the dinner financially- it’s always needed.
